Hope everyone had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you some stunning youngsters, hopefully helped by the mild weather. We have been lucky enough to visit a few breeders and that is certainly the case. It is great to see classes for youngsters at Harrogate, I know some of the traditionalists want the show to remain adult only but it’s all about progress. Not heard what the entry is but I am sure that yet again it will be brilliant, keeping Neill and Geoff busy.
Talking of Harrogate, we will be there as always at the hub of the dwarf stands, looking forward to
receiving your subs in return for our stunning new yearbook. Simon has worked tirelessly over the last couple of months to produce a book that reflects the ambition of the National Dwarf, and believe me he has done us proud. “A labour of love” is how he described it, I am sure Rachel and Evan are both glad it is finished. It is at the printers and will be ready for the show. If you cannot make the show, please renew or join, we would love to have even more new members, and we will pop one in the post after the show.
All our shows and judges are confirmed for 2012, details are on the website, and of course are in the yearbook. Our first show of the year is the intermediate show at Gloucester on April 1st , yearbook editor, photographer, Spurs fan and part time judge Simon Beynon doing the honours. All the December babies will be just right for this show, so get your boxes full and make the trip. Travelodge have some great deals at the moment, so why not make a weekend of it.
Don’t forget to keep your eye on facebook, lots of interest, a lot of which seemed to revolve around my 50th birthday, thanks to the younger secretary. I know it is hard to believe, but that is what clean living does for you! We would love you know your views, so get” posting on the wall” and join in the fun, apparently it is quite addictive. We have just started a twitter account as well, so get “Tweeting.”
We are getting requests for stock so please advertise on the website any quality dwarfs that you would like to pass on, and let’s continue to help new members to become established members, enjoying success at all our shows.
Looking forward to having a chat with you all at Harrogate, subs are unchanged for yet another year, and don’t forget badges and show towels, they are selling fast.
All the best for 2012, Deb (the younger) and Gary (the dinosaur)
