National Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club

News update!

Brilliant day at Gloucester for our Intermediate show, many thanks to Gloucester for looking after us. The entry was really good, 130 dwarfs for Simon to judge, many thanks for your support. Of course, thanks to Simon for not only his usual excellent job behind the table, but then taking yet another set of stunning photos, It is people like Simon that make the National Dwarf Club a pleasure to be secretaries of. Thanks also to Neill Gardner on the book and to all the stewards for fetching and carrying, especially Ruth Petford for collecting the winners for the photos. It was great to meet friends from all over the UK, Bernard Trute, who never looks a day older, enjoying

the sun and Will Dodge keeping us entertained card writing. BIS was John and Carole Fletcher with their stunning Chin, closely followed by Ian and Ruth Bonas with their brilliant Black Otter. Well deserved with all the support you give the National, travelling all the way from the North East to support us. In third, not travelling quite so far, Gary and Deb Hodson, third in the challenge with a super Siamese sable, only 7 months old, so very pleased. We managed to get a few trophies returned but some are still missing, sealpoint, AOC Shaded, Agouti, Opal, AOC Agouti pattern, Marten Sable, Marten Smoke, AOC Tan Pattern and AOC so if you have any ideas please let us know. Remember, next year’s show is at Grantham, so please pop a note in your diaries, showing my age now, put a reminder on your phone!

Our thoughts now move to Colchester on Sept 10, entertained by the East Anglian Dwarf, the babies should be born any day now. What seems to be promoting a bit of debate at the moment is to photograph or not to photograph new born youngsters. I am sure it will continue to do so for quite a while, perhaps we need to contact the “Springwatch team” to put cameras in the nest box. No matter what your views are, let’s hope that you are all successful and we get a great entry. Don’t forget to return your trophies
Yarnfield and the ASS in November, plans are already underway to make the 2012 event bigger and better. In response to the suggestions from last year we have arranged a drop off point just outside the hall, and a team of people to carry your boxes up to the conference suite and signs are already prepared to help you find you way. What would be great is to see all our members there. How about some of our overseas members making a visit, there are many other places to see during your trip.

So get your rooms booked and be part of a great weekend. Tel: 01785 762605. http://www.yarnfieldpark.com/index
